The 6th International Product Lifecycle Management Conference, PLM09, took place from the 6th - 8th July 2009 at the University of Bath, located in the World Heritage City of Bath in the South West of England. This was the sixth PLM conference and the first to be held in the UK. Following the successful first five conferences (held in Bangalore (2003), Lyon (2005), Bangalore (2006), Bergamo/Milano (2007) and Seoul (2008)), the purpose of the PLM09 conference was to present recent developments in this area of significant academic interest and of critical importance to industrial enterprises.
